Some of our Upper School students were recently inducted into the National Honor Society (NHS), a prestigious organization that recognizes outstanding high school students. During the ceremony, students shared stories about their teachers and how IC Imagine has positively impacted their lives. NHS goes beyond just acknowledging academic achievement, it also recognizes students who have shown excellence in areas such as leadership, character, and service.
In the final lesson of the heat transfer unit, Ms. Gennett's 5th grade class put their knowledge to the test with a fun and interactive project. The students used homemade solar ovens to cook s'mores, harnessing the power of the sun to complete their yummy experiment!

To kick off their next reading unit, second-graders were treated to a book tasting! With the upcoming module on Westward Expansion, students will read a variety of books on the subject. Popcorn and dried fruit were on the menu to help students understand how pioneers prepared to feed themselves. Additionally, pretzels and marshmallows were used to craft a hammer, similar to the one John Henry used when helping build the railroad West!

We are thrilled to announce that one of our Seniors, Jeremy Bush, has been named one of the Semifinalists in the 69th annual National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented high school seniors have the opportunity to compete for some 7,140 National Merit Scholarships worth almost $28 million that will be awarded next spring. To move on to the Finalist level of the competition, Semifinalists must meet several requirements. It is expected that around 95% of the Semifinalists will qualify for the Finalist standing, and nearly 50% of the Finalists will receive a National Merit Scholarship, earning the title of Merit Scholar®. Last Friday, the Upper School held its traditional homecoming dance, which was the culmination of a week-long celebration of school spirit.
