Congratulations to Grace Emmert, who has been awarded the National Honor Society Scholarship worth $3200. This scholarship can be utilized at the University of her Choice. Additionally, Grace has received acceptances from Wingate, Queens University of Charlotte, UNC Charlotte, and UNC Greensboro. She is currently awaiting a few more decision letters before making her final choice.

There are many things about being a school counselor that I love. Uniquely, being in a K-12 school I love watching students grow from Kindergarten all the way to graduation. I love watching their development and maturation. It's amazing to be part of such a journey. In addition, I'm lucky enough to get to know and work with some students individually or in groups, and it makes seeing them grow even more special. Being a school counselor here at IC Imagine is an amazing privilege. I'm happy to have such a privilege.

I enjoy being a school counselor. I have worked as a school counselor/social worker, primarily at the elementary level, for 22 years. Developing healthy relationships is very important to me and, in my role as a school counselor, I get the chance to develop those relationships during early childhood years. I also get to help students begin developing healthy emotional awareness and help them learn how to understand their feelings.

My favorite thing about being a school counselor is getting to build relationships with the students and staff. Our position is unique in that we truly have the potential to impact every person in our school. I love getting to know my students and having the opportunity to support them by helping them learn the social emotional skills they need to be successful. I can be there for students and provide a safe space in their moment of need and I love being able to be the one that helps empower them to face their problems and grow as individuals.
