This past weekend, senior Makenna Johnson participated in the 76th Mars Hill University Festival Choral! She spent the day Saturday learning under Dr. Lisa Fredenburgh, ending the evening with a phenomenal concert in a over 350 voice choir. Another highlight included seeing IC Imagine Alum, Owen Ward, participating in the Mars Hill University Choir. As part of this weekend's performance, Makenna is now eligible for a $92,000 scholarship to Mars Hill University. Congratulations Makenna!

Last week, two members of our Exceptional Children department presented at the NC Council for Exceptional Children Conference. Molly Fredrickson-Leonard delivered a presentation on Universal Design for Learning (UDL) tailored specifically for student success. Meanwhile, Laura Marsden collaborated with Dr. Pennington from WCU to discuss standards-based inclusive instruction for students on the adapted curriculum.
