Lower School Families,

We have a fun and busy week ahead as we prepare for Spirit Week, running October 6–10th. Each day will have a special theme:

  • Monday: PJ Day

  • Tuesday: Sports Day

  • Wednesday: Surfer vs. Cowboy

  • Thursday: Dress Like a Teacher

  • Friday: Spirit Day

Next week also marks the start of Bring Your Family to Investments. Families of students in grades 3–5 are invited to join us, with K–2 opportunities coming in the spring. [Sign up]

Thank you to all of you that joined us for Math night last night! We had a great time using dice to practice math and look forward to more fun learning-focused events this year! Ted E. Tourist even stopped by to check it out!!

We’re excited to share that Safety Patrol begins Monday. Our 5th graders will be serving as leaders, helping build a positive school culture by reminding classmates of our DIVE expectations. This week, we also celebrated our first DIVE Awards, recognizing two students from each class for modeling “Do everything safely.” We look forward to honoring them again during Imagination Day on October 24th.

All students recently received Student ID cards, which also serve as NC Public Library cards. This partnership provides free access to books and resources—what a great way to support a love of reading![Learn more]

This year, we are also celebrating Perfect Attendance. The first quarter ends October 10th, and we look forward to recognizing students who had no absences. Celebrations will take place at the end of each quarter, as well as a special recognition for students with perfect attendance all year.

Looking ahead, there are a few exciting opportunities for families. On Tuesday, October 7th, join us for a Chipotle fundraiser on Brevard Road from 5–9 p.m. Mention IC Imagine or show the flyer, and 25% of sales will benefit our students. Online orders can use code KNYE9LJ. Our Chorus program will also be collecting gently used athletic sneakers October 6–16th through the GotSneakers fundraiser, raising funds while helping the environment.

We’re also thrilled to invite students ages 7–12 to participate in the Run, Jump, Throw event hosted by USA Track and Field. This free event will be held Saturday, October 11th, from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. at the Karl Straus Track on the campus of UNC Asheville. Students will interact with UNC Asheville athletes, participate in fun stations, and even meet Rocky the Bulldog.

imageFinally, IC Imagine is seeking community members to join our Board of Directors (not parents) to help guide the school’s growth and support student success. If you know someone who would be a great fit, please encourage them to apply. Parent opportunities will be available soon. We are so grateful for your continued partnership and look forward to celebrating Spirit Week and all of the exciting opportunities coming up for our Lower School students!

Have a great weekend,

Jamie Williams & Ellen Girardi
