We hope everyone is doing well and staying warm. We have a lot going on as we wrap up the Winter season with our Basketball Conference tournaments. Make plans to come cheer on our teams and help us pack our gym to capacity as we cheer on our student-athletes to victory!
We are also gearing up for our spring sports, tournaments, and additional programming. Review the information below so you don’t miss any important updates or opportunities.

3v3 Basketball Tournament (Grades 4-8)
Save the date! The 3-v-3 Basketball Tournament is back for its 5th season as we have our (6th-8th) grade division on Saturday, February 21st, and our (4th-5th) Grade division on Saturday, February 28th. This event is open to all 4th - 8th grade IC Imagine students. Visit the 3v3 webpage for all the details!
Saturday, February 28th - Grades 4-5: from 9 am - 1 pm
Saturday, February 21st - Grades 6-8: from 9:30 pm - 12:30 pm
Fee for Players will be $10 and will paid at the door
Admission will be $10 per adult and $5 per child (ages 2 & under are free)
Students pick their teams
Teams must have a minimum of 4 players and no more than 5
Parents of the students should establish a line of communication
Teams will need to choose a team name and team color (1st color choice not guaranteed)
Winners receive individual trophies
Flag Football
We are exploring the addition of Flag Football in response to its growing popularity in interscholastic athletics. Below are details on the different programming opportunities we hope to offer this spring.
US Only (Grades 9-12): This team will look to practice and compete against a few local schools and participate in the CAASC State Tournament. Any students interested in participating need to complete the interest form, and we will reach out with more information in the coming weeks.
Grades 2-9: We are exploring fielding Kingfisher teams to participate in Asheville City Parks & Rec’s Youth Flag Football program this spring. If your child is interested in playing, complete the interest form. Volunteer coaches will be needed to make this happen; contact Coach Irvin if you are interested in helping. The teams will be broken down as follows, with age division based on players' age on March 31, 2026:
8U - 2nd & 3rd grade
10U - 4th & 5th grade
12U - 6th & 7th grade
15U - 8th & 9th grade
ABYSA Soccer
We are encouraging all families that plan to play in ABYSA’s recreational league to be sure to list that you're an “IC Imagine” student, and they will try their best to get our Kingfishers on the same team. Please reach out to Coach Irvin if you have any questions.
