Middle School Families,
The Middle School Dance is tonight from 6–8 p.m. in the Gym! The theme is “Fall into the Beat.” If you didn’t purchase tickets on Infinite Campus, you can pay with cash at the door. Admission includes food, drinks, and activities. Students can dress up or keep it casual—just no heels or boots that could damage the gym floor. We’re excited for a fun night of music, dancing, and time together!
8th Grade Families, November 14th is the last day to register for the trip to Washington, D.C. You must register through Grand Classroom.
We held a lockdown drill this week, and we are incredibly proud of how calmly and responsibly our students and teachers followed expectations and procedures. Their cooperation helps ensure that we are prepared and safe.
A reminder that Monday, November 10 is a Teacher Workday — there is no school for students, as our staff will spend the day in professional development and planning meaningful instruction. Tuesday, November 11, is also a school holiday in recognition of Veterans Day. We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend.
Yesterday, an email went out with the Western North Carolina Community Food & Mutual Aid Guide, a helpful resource for families in our community who may be experiencing food insecurity. We encourage you to review it and share it with anyone who may benefit.
As we head into colder weather, please remember to send your child to school with warm layers labeled with their name. Our Lost & Found is currently very full, and many of the items do not have identification. We want to return belongings to the right students before we donate unclaimed items — labeling clothing makes a huge difference.
Asheville Ultimate Club (AUC) joined our PE classes this week to teach students the basics of Ultimate—teamwork, communication, and lots of fun! AUC is also hosting a Youth Hat Tournament next Monday, November 10th, from 4:00–7:00 p.m. for players ages 11–15. A Hat Tournament means players sign up individually and are placed on mixed teams, promoting connection, teamwork, and new friendships. Students will need a white shirt & a dark shirt, water bottle/snack, and cleats or sneakers.[Register here]
Mark your calendars for these upcoming events!
