Upper School Families,

It has been a great week at school, and we are incredibly proud of our students who took the Pre-ACT and Practice ACT. Their focus, effort, and dedication to preparing for their future are truly commendable.

This week, we also held a lockdown drill, and we are proud of how calmly and responsibly our students and teachers followed expectations and procedures. Their cooperation helps ensure that our school remains prepared and safe.

Yesterday, an email went out with the Western North Carolina Community Food & Mutual Aid Guide, a helpful resource for families in our community who may be experiencing food insecurity. We encourage you to review it and share it with anyone who may benefit.

A reminder: Monday, November 10, is a Teacher Workday — there is no school for students, as our staff will focus on professional development and planning meaningful instruction. Tuesday, November 11, is a school holiday in recognition of Veterans Day. We hope everyone enjoys the long weekend!

We are also excited to share that two of our MTB athletes, Hailey Wesolek and Olivia Dull, will be traveling to the Eastern Regionals to compete this weekend. Please join us in wishing them good luck!

As we move into the final stretch before Winter Break, we encourage you to join us on campus to celebrate and support our students. Whether it’s a Fine Arts performance, a basketball game, or a special classroom event, these moments help build our strong and joyful school community. Come cheer, clap, and celebrate our Kingfishers!

Mark your calendars for these upcoming events!

Support our Upper School Chorus students’ Disney trip by purchasing locally roasted coffee! The fundraiser runs Nov. 3–14, just in time for holiday shopping. You can order directly from a US Chorus student (supports their trip account) or through Infinite Campus → Other → Donations → Coffee Fundraiser (option to credit a specific student). Coffee orders can be picked up at the school on Nov. 21.

Kendra Gives Back event at Kendra Scott in Biltmore Park Town Square on Saturday, November 15th, from 4:00–6:00 p.m. Enjoy sips, sweets, and shopping while supporting the IC Imagine Cheer Team—20% of all purchases will go directly to the team! Can’t make it in person? Shop online using the code GIVEBACK-KKDWB between November 15–16 to have your purchase count toward our fundraiser.

IC Imagine’s Winter Market on November 20 from 3:30 to 6:00 p.m. Enjoy student-made art, treats, gift wrapping, and a special Winter Band Concert to end the evening. All proceeds will support our Fine Arts Department — a perfect way to kick off the winter season.

IC Imagine is hosting a Blood Drive on Friday, November 21st! Each donation can save up to three lives. Donating takes about an hour and helps patients in need of blood for surgeries, cancer treatments, and emergencies. [Sign up]
