A note from the Fine Arts Coordinator
The Fine Arts programs are continuing to thrive at IC Imagine. So many exciting events have already happened and are happening over the next months. Make sure to mark your calendars!
US Theater Production of “Macbeth”, October 30-31
LS Musical Theater Interest Meeting, November 5
MS/US Winter Chorus Concert, November 18
Fine Arts Winter Market, November 20
MS/US Winter Band Concert, November 20
I am so proud of the work that the Fine Arts Team has put into creating environments where our students may thrive in their areas of creativity, whether it be on the stage as an actor or a musician, or in the classroom, creating incredible works of art. I hope that you enjoy getting a little “taste” of the work that we are blessed to see and hear every day with our students.
One quick reminder, please remember that in order to participate in any IC Imagine Fine Arts event that takes place outside of school hours, students must be present for the school day for at least 3.5 hours on the day of the event. Failure to attend on the day of the event will result in not being allowed to participate in the event.

Middle and Upper Band
The Middle and Upper school bands had a fantastic concert on October 2nd. It was a special evening with first performances for the beginning MS band students, Ms. Orange’s first time directing at IC Imagine, several incredible pieces by each of the bands!
Middle and Upper Chorus
The Middle and Upper School Choruses kicked off the 2025-2026 Fine Arts Calendar year with their first concert of the year on the Thursday before Fall break. It was the strongest Fall Concert from the IC Imagine Choral Department to be performed yet! The students presented an evening of songs that celebrated the power, influence, and joy of music in our lives, ending with a final piece called “Fill the World with Music.” All 91 of the students enrolled in chorus, from Middle School to Upper School, performed this piece together on stage.
Exciting news for the Upper School Choruses! This year, the Upper School Choruses will be traveling to Orlando, Florida, to participate in the Walt Disney World Festival Disney! While there, the chorus students will have the opportunity to perform on a Disney stage and receive feedback from three internationally known choral musicians. After their performance, one of the musicians will then give a 20 minute clinic to the chorus students on ways they can continue to grow and excel in music. This is an incredible opportunity for our students! If you would like to sponsor a student to make it possible for them to attend this trip, please email Mrs. Crayton at melanyecrayton@icimagine.org.
We will also be holding a coffee fundraiser in partnership with Dynamite Roasting Co. in November, so keep an eye out for more information soon!

Middle School Visual Art
We spent the month of September focusing on learning pen and ink skills. Pen and Ink Still Life Drawing: We had multiple sessions of still life drawing. Building up stamina to study and draw for longer periods of time culminating in a final drawing that students worked on for 45 minutes. Below are a few that stood out, but please understand that they were all wonderful.
Tesselations: Additionally, while we were working on practicing our still life skills, students were also thinking about how they might integrate their pen and ink skills into a work of art that emulates M.C.Escher through the creation of their own tesselation. Below are a few that stood out.

Ceramics 1-
We have been busy learning all the basics of clay and how to put things together. Their 1st project was to create a 3 bowl snack container using pinch pots. Students are also glazing their Low Relief portrait tiles.
Art 3 4 has been developing their skills with different mediums and getting to then explore their choice of subject matter using that medium. Their 1st technical drawing involved the use of different types of drawing charcoal. They were then allowed to take the knowledge they gained and apply it to a chosen subject matter.
They just finished their technical project involving the combination of colored pencils and graphite pencils to create a balanced composition .
Art 3,4 students are also working on their submission to the Crosley Cruiser Art Competition. The work will be submitted on October 17th and then we will need your help!
November 3-7th The public vote will determine the best from each region and then Crosley will choose the winner from the top 5!! Likes and shares on social media will also count as votes and you will be allowed to vote 1 a day and you can like and share from ICI’s social media page or from your students social media. We will send this information out closer to the time!!
Digital Photography 1 is finishing up a fun project where they were given a rubber duck to photograph outside of the classroom.
All the Art classes are busily preparing for our first ever Winter Market on November 20th from 3-5. Ceramics 1 is making beautiful Luminaries, and trinket dishes, ceramics 2 is making trivets . There will be photos from the Photo 1 class available as well. Look for pictures of these in the next newsletter.
