Middle School Families,

As we move into September, we are joining schools across the country in recognizing Attendance Awareness Month.

Regular attendance is one of the strongest predictors of academic success. When students are present each day, they stay on top of their learning, strengthen connections with teachers and peers, and are better prepared for success inside and outside the classroom.

Here at IC Imagine, we ask families to partner with us by helping students arrive on time each day and by scheduling appointments and trips outside of school hours whenever possible. Missing just a few days can quickly add up and impact progress. [Attendance policy]

We’re also excited to partner with  Buncombe County Public Library. Together, we believe that a love of books and learning builds a strong foundation for student success. Through the StudentAccess program, every IC Imagine student can use their Student ID number to check out books and resources from the public library. To learn more—or to opt out—please visit our website.

Finally, we’d like to remind families about the Wait Until 8th pledge, which many IC Imagine parents joined last spring. This initiative encourages delaying smartphones until after 8th grade, helping kids build healthier digital habits. Our parent group stays connected through shared resources, family meet-ups, and workshops. Whether you’re ready to take the pledge or just want to learn more, you are welcome to join this supportive network of families. To get connected, email taliakirschner@gmail.com.

Thank you for making attendance a priority in your family. Together, we can help our Middle School Kingfishers thrive!
