Upper School Families,
We’ve had a great start to the school year, and we are so proud of the energy and focus our students are bringing into the classroom! As we settle into routines, we want to take a moment to address attendance and tardy expectations so that everyone is set up for success.
Advisory is a critical part of the school day where we build community, share important information, and provide academic and social-emotional support. Starting now, students who receive three or more tardies to Advisory will face consequences. Continued tardiness will require students to make up time after school.
Consistent attendance is one of the strongest predictors of academic success. Students are expected to be present and on time for all classes. Missing more than 10 days in a course—whether excused or unexcused—may result in a loss of course credit.
We understand that unavoidable situations, such as illness or family emergencies, can impact attendance. Families may request an attendance waiver if a student has more than 10 absences. The waiver process requires documentation, and approval is not guaranteed.
Students who exceed 10 absences will need to complete attendance make-up to demonstrate learning and recover time. This may include attending after-school sessions, completing additional assignments, or other teacher-approved opportunities. More information will be shared with students as needed. Starting Tuesday, September 2nd, students can purchase snacks and drinks with cash during lunchtime. All proceeds support our PBIS prize program. Enjoy a treat while helping fund rewards for positive behavior!
School Pictures Are Now Available! To place your order, simply log into your account at mylifetouch.com or create a new account using your student’s ID number (which can be found in Infinite Campus). Additionally, all families can log in and request a complimentary digital SmileSafe Card.
As a reminder, we are a Nut Aware School. We have several students throughout all school levels with severe, life-threatening food allergies to peanuts and nuts. Due to the severity of these allergies, we are asking that you be mindful of this when you are bringing food into our school. We need your cooperation to maintain a safe environment for all by avoiding nuts and nut products at IC Imagine.
Lastly, we are seeking Advisory Council members for the 25–26 school year and welcome applications if this is a way you might want to engage. The Council provides input on school priorities, climate, programs, and family/community engagement. Members may help review achievement data, give feedback on school initiatives, promote parent involvement, and strengthen connections within our community. We are always looking for representation across lower, middle, and upper school and from a variety of stakeholder groups. If you applied last spring, there’s no need to reapply.
