Our 12th year of educating tomorrow’s leaders is off to a fantastic start, filled with energy, excitement, and a shared commitment to excellence. Whether you are a returning family or joining us for the first time, I want to personally thank you for choosing to be part of the Kingfisher community.
At IC Imagine, we center our work around our six core values: Inclusivity, Academic Excellence, Strong Relationships, Well-being, Exploration, and Creativity. These values are at the heart of everything we do. They guide every decision we make and every experience we create for our students and families.
You, parents and guardians, play an important role in our community and can support our efforts around these values. I am often asked, “What can I do to support my child and the school community?” The answer is simple but powerful: Engage. Ask your child questions about what they are learning, inquire about friendships, connect with teachers, attend school events, introduce yourself to someone new, volunteer, and build relationships with other families. The strength of our community is one of our greatest assets, and your involvement plays a vital role in our collective success.
We are seeking Advisory Council members for the 25–26 school year and welcome applications if this is a way you might want to engage. The Council provides input and gives feedback on school priorities, programs, family engagement, and community needs. We are always looking for representation across lower, middle, and upper school and from a variety of stakeholder groups. If you applied last spring, there’s no need to reapply. As we look ahead, I want to share a reminder about the unique challenges we face as a charter school when it comes to funding. IC Imagine is given a per pupil amount per student, and this is what informs our annual operating budget. This funding falls significantly short of what traditional school districts receive; therefore, we rely heavily on the support of our community to bridge this gap. After Labor Day, you’ll hear from Avery Jones, our Finance Director, about ways you can support our school financially. I fully recognize each family’s situation is different, and every contribution—large or small—matters. Please take the time to engage in this communication and determine how you can best support IC Imagine.
