Upper School Families,
Congratulations to Amy Cornett, who will be recognized as an Educator of Excellence by The ARC of Buncombe County. Many of you know that Amy teaches from the heart. As a special education teacher, she shows care and concern for her students and the ICI family that they are part of. Her classroom is a learning community - all working together for the common good. She creates opportunities for students to gain knowledge and employability skills. This year, she forged a new partnership with an outdoor education organization called Waypoint, whose mission is to make outdoor adventures accessible to people with disabilities. Our students have been able to rock climb, bike, kayak, and much more. She truly is an exemplary educator and a valued member of our team here at IC Imagine.
📝Exams Continue Next Week!
Click here to view the schedule for our teacher-made exams. Every upper school student has received a personalized exam schedule. Please review and discuss it at home to ensure students are aware of their exam dates and times. Students only report to school IF scheduled to take an exam.
🥤 Exam Week Snacks – We Need Your Help!
We have had really nice snacks for our students this week. We are still taking donations of drinks and snacks to support our students during exams for the final week. Please visit this Sign-Up Genius to contribute. Donations can be dropped off at the front office anytime.
👮Support Our School Safety Efforts
Reminder that we are requesting letters of support for an SRO at Imagine from our families. We would like to encourage each of you to draft a letter asking the County Commissioners to assign a School Resource Officer (SRO) to our school. Submit letters here via this form. Learn more here.
⛰️Outward Bound is still seeking interested students
We have an exciting new partnership with the North Carolina Outward Bound School. Imagineers and the Outdoor Club members each had great experiences this spring. Imagineers participated on Imagination Day with Outward Bound, developing team and leadership skills. The Outdoor Club spent 2 days at the Outward Bound base camp near Brevard, where they were introduced to basic outdoor skills like camping and cooking. They even had a chance to complete a high ropes course. Both groups said these experiences were fun and helpful. As a part of this new partnership, 10 students will be able to go free of charge on a four day program Oct. 2nd - 5th. Please contact Ms. Turner for more information.

📌 Attendance Make-Up & Final Grades
Attendance Make-Up Sessions:
All students who are absent because they are not testing can ignore being counted absent in advisory. Advisory must mark students who are not present as absent but those days do not count toward the allotted total. Students needing to complete attendance make-up can attend sessions on:
June 9–10, 12: 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
June 11 & 13: 8:00 AM – 11:30 AM
Failure to complete required hours will result in an FF (Failure due to Attendance), necessitating summer school to earn course credit.
Final Grades:
Grades will be finalized and available in Infinite Campus by Friday, June 13.
Have a great summer,
