Upper School Families,

It has been another full week in Upper School!  To kick off this newsletter, we want to share that we are proud to welcome Ms. Hodges to IC Imagine as our Upper School Principal, stepping into Mrs. Turner’s place upon her retirement. Julia Hodges is a native of Surry County, NC, and a proud graduate of Mt. Airy High School. Being a first generation college graduate, she understands the value of education. Ms. Hodges began her career as a 7th and 8th Grade Math Teacher at Clyde A. Erwin Middle School. While at Erwin Middle, she worked collaboratively with the United Way of Asheville and coached the Lady Warriors Basketball team. Following her years at Erwin Middle, Ms. Hodges served as Assistant Principal at Enka Intermediate and A.C. Reynolds High School. Additionally, she served as Principal of Eblen Intermediate School. Her experiences encompass all facets of school administration. Ms. Hodges earned her Masters in Educational Leadership from Gardner-Webb University and her Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina, Asheville. Her degree included a study abroad summer at the University of Ghana in Accra, Ghana, Africa. As the new Upper School Principal of IC Imagine, Ms. Hodges looks forward to being a part of the thriving Kingfisher community!

The senior class returned to Camp Talisman for one of their final high school trips.  They enjoyed an incredible day filled with fun, fellowship, good food, games, and lots of laughs.

The Spring Musical Production Mean Girls is on stage!  Opening night was a resounding success, and our talented artists take the stage again tonight and Saturday afternoon.  If you haven’t purchased tickets and want to attend, grab yours today!  We are extremely proud of these students who’ve spent many weeks and countless hours rehearsing.  Please join me in giving Mr. Campbell, Ms. Nilo, Mr. Wolf, and Ms. Eudy a huge “thank you” for their dedication to these students and this production.

Senior Breakfast and Call for Volunteers

Seniors! Please use the following RSVP link for the senior breakfast on Saturday, June 14th, from 10:00 - 12:00.

9th-11th grade families, please consider volunteering so the senior families can enjoy this breakfast! Volunteers would meet at Heaven's Cloud Event Center at 130 Sardis Road at approximately 9:20 am for a short orientation and set up.  If you are willing to help, please email kimberlydawnwall@gmail.com

We are in need of the following:

  • a couple of volunteers to pick up donated food Saturday morning to bring to the event;

  • volunteers to help direct traffic and show people where to go; and

  • help with some housekeeping activities throughout the event.

Final Exams

Attendance Make-Up & Final Grades

Students who still need to complete attendance make-up can attend sessions from 8:00 AM to 3:00 PM on June 3–6, 9–10, and 12. On June 11 and 13, sessions will run from 8:00 AM to 11:30 AM.

Students who do not complete their required attendance hours will receive an FF (Failure due to Attendance) and must attend summer school to earn course credit.

Final grades will be finalized and available in Infinite Campus by Friday, June 13.

Lastly, one of our middle school students recently faced the devastating experience of a house fire. We are reaching out to our community to share their GoFundMe campaign. Together, we can make a meaningful impact in their lives and demonstrate the strength of our community spirit. Thank you for your kindness and generosity!

Have a great weekend,
