Our charter application is the document submitted to the State of North Carolina Department of Public Instruction (“DPI”) and Office of Charter Schools (“OCS”) for approval to run a charter school. This document was originally submitted to open IC Imagine in 2014 and amended in October of 2017. Our charter is up for renewal every five years and during this time the Office of Charter Schools reviews our governance, finances, operations and academics. Our Board of Directors reviews our charter annually to ensure the school is adhering to what was originally set forth. If there are changes they decide whether the charter needs to be amended with DPI or whether the school needs to make changes in operations, curriculum or other areas to maintain adherence to the charter.
