Mrs. Jenn Townley-Head of School
I am proud to serve as the Head of School at INVEST COLLEGIATE Imagine. I was born here in Asheville and grew up in Arden. I spent ten years as a high school Science teacher, first at JB Hunt High School in Wilson, NC, then at AC Reynolds High School in Asheville, NC. During this time I earned my National Board Teacher Certification in Chemistry and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. I was named Teacher of the Year for the 2013-2014 school year. I served on the board of IC Imagine during the 2013-2014 year and volunteered my time to open the school. I took the position of Head of School when we opened our doors in 2014. I believe strongly in the mission and vision of IC Imagine and it is my goal to support all stakeholders as we strive to implement an exemplary educational program that will serve as a model for education in North Carolina. I am married and have two children, both of whom attend IC Imagine. In my spare time (HA!), I enjoy running, hiking, reading and my family!
Mr. Jamie Williams-Dean of Lower School
I feel honored to serve as the Dean of Lower School at IC Imagine. I’m from a small town in upstate New York, where I attended a traditional K-12 school. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from SUNY Cortland, a Master’s of Reading and Literacy from Walden University, and a Master’s in School Leadership from Gardner Webb University. This is my 12th year as a professional educator with my first 7 years experience in 2nd grade in Charleston, SC and the following 3 years were spent in a 5th grade classroom at Oakley Elementary as part of BCS. I was fortunate to be selected as the “2008 & 2014 Teacher of the Year”. I am married and have a 5 year old son, 3 year old daughter, and a 6 month old son. My hobbies include soccer, basketball, running, and hiking. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to join the IC Imagine family.
Mr. Ryan Bell-Dean of Middle School
I am the Dean of Middle School and Adventure Club Coordinator for IC Imagine. I was born and raised in Evansville, Indiana and earned my Bachelors degree in Mathematics Education from the University of Southern Indiana. I taught high school math for seven years, and middle school math for two. My first two years experience were at a small high school in Southern Indiana, followed by four years at A.C. Reynolds High School in Asheville where I was the “2013 Teacher of the Year”. I am extremely excited to take on my new role in administration, and share the knowledge, experience, and leadership skills that have lead me to this position.
I am married and have a beautiful 3 year old daughter and 5 month old son. My hobbies include exploring the area mountains via trail running, mountain biking, and/or whitewater kayaking. I joined the INVEST COLLEGIATE family because I believe in the mission of IC Imagine, and believe we will be a model for education in the future.
Mrs. Nicole Morin – Dean of Upper School
My name is Nicole Morin and I am the Dean of Upper School for the 2017/2018 school year. I have been working as an educator in Western North Carolina since 2005. During time away from school I enjoy traveling, spending time outdoors with my family, and reading.
I lived in Southern California until I was 12 and then lived in Western New York until I received my educators licensure from St. John Fisher College. My husband and I were married in 2011 and had our daughter, Eleanor, in 2012. In 2013 I received my Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Gardner Webb University. In 2015 I joined the IC Imagine family. Our son, Atticus, was born in November 2015.
I’m very excited to be a part of the IC Imagine community and look forward to watching our school grow.
Mr. Sean Vervain-Exceptional Children’s Coordinator, Dean of Upper School
I am the EC Coordinator and Dean of Students for Upper School at IC Imagine. I have worked in education supporting students in various capacities for the past 10 years. I have worked with youth in Jamaica, California, Oregon, Virginia, and North Carolina. These diverse experiences have developed in me a unique perspective on student learning and a vision to support an inclusive culture that demonstrates progressive values. I enjoy spending time with my partner and two children when I am away from work. We can be found participating in community activities, gardening, and enjoying the beautiful mountains of Western North Carolina. I remain committed to learning from new experiences, supporting all learners, and developing initiatives to improve educational opportunities for all.
I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. I am proud to have been a part of IC Imagine since we opened our doors in the fall of 2014. I started at IC Imagine teaching first grade. In our first year, I was very proud to be chosen as our school’s inaugural Teacher of the Year. Before coming to IC Imagine, I spent several years teaching first and second grade. I am looking very forward to continuing to share my experience and love of teaching and learning with the Collegiate Leaders and Champions here at IC Imagine.
Mrs. Sarah Reams-Curriculum Coordinator/Coach Middle and Upper School
IC Imagine has been a wonderful experience for our family, and I am so glad to be a part of it. I began my career in Pennsylvania teaching Middle School Reading. I received my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction during that time. My husband and I relocated to Asheville in 2006. I taught with Buncombe County schools for a number of years, then shifted gears and went to work at Western Carolina University. At WCU, I worked with the student teachers and taught an introductory education course. It was during this time that I realized how much I enjoyed helping other teachers hone their craft! Last year I returned to the middle school classroom at IC Imagine, and I am super excited to shift into the Curriculum Coordinator role. In addition, I will continue to serve as the Beginning Teacher Coordinator to support our new teachers.
We have two active boys, and a girl who will join the family in a few months. As you can imagine, we are very busy! In my free time, I enjoy reading and doing any type of activity that allows me to be creative.
Mr. Jesse Mitchell – Lower and Middle School Counselor
Before becoming the School Counselor at ICI I was the School Counselor at Oakley Elementary School for three years. I have a Bachelor of Science in Human Services from Old Dominion University – 2007 and a Master of Science Education with an emphasis in School Counseling from ODU – 2010. I am married and have three children, three cats and two dogs. I love working in this educational environment. I love being at this school and I believe in the educational impact our school has on its students. ICI is a family and I am proud to be part of it. It is my mission to aid in the socio-emotional, academic and career development for all of our students while advocating for student well-being through collaboration with students, parents, teachers, administration and stake holders. Go Highlanders!!!
Ashlee Kinnaird – Lower and Middle Counselor
My name is Ashlee Kinnaird and I am a School Counselor here at IC Imagine for grades K-8. I was born and raised in Blackshear, Georgia. After some traveling out west, I settled in Asheville and earned my Bachelors degree in Spanish with Teacher Licensure at UNCA and was fortunate enough to spend a semester abroad in Spain. I
taught Spanish at Madison High School in Marshall, NC for two years before joining the ICI family when we opened in 2014. I was a Spanish teacher here for the past three years before embarking on this new adventure in the Counseling department.
I am currently pursuing my Masters degree in School Counseling at Western Carolina University. I feel honored to remain a part of ICI and am excited to continue working with our Champions, but in this new capacity. It is my goal to aid students in the socio-emotional, academic, and career development at IC Imagine.
My husband and I live in Swannanoa and have a 6-year- old son, Landen, a 4-year- old daughter, Avery, and a cute pup named Murphy. We love traveling, cooking, camping, hiking, crafts, and spending time with my family and friends.
Abbey Gelineau – Upper School Counselor
My name is Abbey Gelineau and I am the Upper School Counselor at IC Imagine. I was born and raised in New England, but moved down to Asheville in July of 2013 to take the Freshman Counselor position at Enka High School. Prior to my three years at Enka, I spent four years at Pioneer Charter School of Science, located in Boston, MA, counseling students in grades 7-12. Before that, my first counseling job was as a 7th grade counselor in San Francisco at Marina Middle School. I graduated from Skidmore College in 2004, where I majored in Sociology and minored in Early Childhood Education and Women’s Studies. I received my Master’s in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco in 2008.
Advising adolescents is my true calling, and I am fortunate enough to both teach and learn from my students on a daily basis. When I am not at school, I enjoy cooking, practicing yoga, spending time with friends, and hitting the trails of WNC with my rescue pup, Birdy.
Mrs. Kerri Eudy – Facilities Manager
I am the Administrative Associate at IC Imagine. I was born and raised right here in Asheville, North Carolina! Before joining ICI, I was an EC Assistant for seven years at AC Reynolds High School. I am married and have three wonderful children. My hobbies include Zumba and drinking coffee. I joined the IC Imagine family because that is exactly what we are… a family 🙂
Mrs. Jill Brackins – Student Information Services
As an Administrative Assistant at Invest Collegiate Imagine, I am delighted to have the opportunity to combine my Office Management skills with my passion for improving the lives of children. Although I was born and raised in Northern Virginia, I have called the North Carolina mountains “Home” for over twenty years. In my time off I enjoy spending quality time with my husband and our two wonderful children. I am thrilled to be part of the Imagine Team contributing to creating a better educational opportunity for our children and generations to come.
Mrs. Heather Gillis – Front Office Main Campus
I am an Administrative Assistant here at IC Imagine and work primarily in the front office. I am often the person on the other end of the phone when you call. I am a lifelong resident of Western North Carolina and went to UNCA where I obtained a Bachelor of Science in Management with an emphasis in Healthcare and Health and Wellness. I worked part time teaching fitness and educating adults in health and wellness for over ten years before starting at ICI. I began substitute teaching last year and then was hired to help with enrollment. I am married and have three amazing children all who are students here. We chose to be here for the wonderful since of community, the amazing faulty and the many opportunities that enhance learning. When not at school I enjoy reading, coaching softball and being outdoors especially camping.
Sabrina Mueller – Front Office Upper School Campus
Hello, my name is Sabrina Mueller. I am the upper school administrative assistant, as well as a Destination Imagination coordinator. My husband and I have two young daughters that attend ICI and we have been in Asheville since 2006. I graduated from NC State University with a degree in landscape design and enjoyed working in the design field for many years prior to joining the ICI team. I am a certified yoga instructor in multiple styles. Additionally, I am very passionate about long distance backpacking, travel, as well as nutrition.
Mrs. Melissa Strong-Parent Volunteer Coordinator
I am excited to be a part of the IC Imagine family, not only as a parent of two ICI Champions, but now as a new Administrative Associate for ICI. My family moved to western North Carolina three years ago, from eastern NC, where we lived for several years. I bring to IC Imagine my background in customer service and small business ownership. As a substitute teacher for IC Imagine, and the chair of the Parent Lunch Volunteers in 2015/2016, I enjoyed getting to know parents and Champions alike. I am looking forward to continuing to build our school’s Lunch Program and being your Volunteer Coordinator! I love spending time with my family, hiking to waterfalls and enjoying the mountains, sewing, running, coffee, and having my toes in the sand at the beach.
